Christmas with Glitz

I've been playing with some more Glitz goodies and making Christmas cards. I actually used several of the Love Nest papers in my December Daily this year. And although they aren't technically Christmas papers, they look great. I'm still working on Christmas cards, so I thought I'd use some of those same papers for my cards.

 

For my first card I used two of the "Love Nest" whatnots. I love how easy it is to make any holiday card with the little calendar.

Happy Thanksgiving with Glitz

Hey friends! Happy early Thanksgiving! When I heard that it was going to my turn to post on the Glitz blog the day before Thanksgiving, I knew picking a theme would be easy! :)

For the first card I wanted to use these cute new distressing stamp. Lately I've been trying to "think outside the box." I knew I would be hand delivering this card, so why not have a little fun by going outside the "box" of your card base?

I think I'll be using that "This Day in History" stamp a lot. For my next card, I went with a thankful card, but I used the Hoopla November Whatnot, to add a little Thanksgiving flair.

Fun with Glitzers!

Sometimes it's nice to start with a blank slate. For these two cards that's exactly what I did. I really just started with a white card base. And maybe I've been watching too much Project Runway and Mondo, but I just started combining these different patterned Glitzers. I think this is such a great fast card, and perfect for mailing. And with Valentine's Day not too far off, both of these will work great to start my stash.

It's Fall Time with Glitz!

Hey there, Courtney here! It's my turn to post on the Glitz blog, and since it's starting to feel like fall here I broke out the fallish Glitz papers. I really like these two shades of brown from the Kismet collection and Vintage Love.

It's Glitz Time

It's my turn to post on the Glitz blog today, and I don't know about you but I've been in a serious fall mood lately. I'm all about the weather, the colors, layering clothes, etc. So why not just make my Glitz cards with the things I'm so in love with right now? I broke out some orange, grayish blue, and dark green cardstock and got to work with some of my favorite Glitz products.

For this first card, I've always thought this piece from the Vintage Love Whatnots would make a great masculine card. However, I'm not really that great with masculine cards, but this piece really helped this card come together. I really love the outcome.

For this card I used Vintage Love Whatnots and Distressed Couture Blocks.

For this next card it was all about the Vintage Love Extra Rub-Ons. I think these random alphas are really cool. And you'll notice on both cards I push something outside the "boundary." Of course that makes it harder to mail, but if you know you'll be hand delivering it really adds an unexpected touch to a card.

For this card I used the Vintage Love Extra Rub-Ons and Fancy Frames Clear Stamps.

It's Glitz Time Again

It's my turn to post over on the Glitz blog. I never would have expected this when I got my goodies from Glitz because I don't normally go for pink, but I just cannot seem to stop using the Maya Collection. I just love this collection.

For the first card, I started with a piece Maya Patchwork. It has numerous great patterns, so I just punched out a few of my favorites and started working with them. Here's what the result was:

There's a lot of patterns going on, but once you add it to a white card base I think it makes a very interesting card.

For my next card, I just really wanted to use the flowers from Maya Accent Stickers. These big stickers make a really quick focal point!

I added my sentiment using those classic block letters and some messy sewing on my machine! Hopefully these bright, fun, flowers will make someone's day.

It's Glitz Time

Is anyone else counting down the days until they can get their hands on the new Glitz collections? I know I am, but in the mean time I'm still having fun using Maya Collection and Vintage Find Whatnots.

For this first project I wanted to make a little treat container, and I had to use some pixie sticks (somehow I'm the only one that has never out-grown pixie sticks).

For my next project I wanted to use one of the Vintage Find Whatnots with a dyed doily. I love this Distressed Couture patterned paper for card making. The scale of the design works so well on cards.

Glitz Love

There seems to be a lot of talk about styles lately, and usually my style is like a moving target. I like to play with different types of styles. So for my two Glitz cards I did just that, played with styles. Both are "LOVE" cards, but two different styles.

For the first I went all out on the glam factor. Lots of red and black and even a little bling!

Don't you just love that frame? It's actually the Fancy Frames Rub-on. I was instantly in love with those frames, but it's one of those things I've had a hard time using it since I like them so much. Thankfully I still have two more.

for my second card I thought I'd play around with the Shabby side of things. I think the Vintage Love Whatnots are the perfect starting point.

I simply added a few buttons, a dyed doiley, and ribbon, but it all started with that great heart! It's a pretty interesting color combo, but I'm really happy with how the soft colors play against the green, brown and black.
