It's time for another 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge! As always, Laura's got another great one cooked up for us!

I got some of Crate Paper's new chipboard, and I thought this sketch worked perfectly with the pieces. I used the hounds tooth stamp from our latest release in Retro Christmas Backgrounds to create the background. I just love that stamp.

I'm ready for Spring!

Really, every card I make these days has clouds, trees, grass, etc. I've never been so excited about mulch. Really, I can't wait to work in the yard.

I just wanted to show you this card I made. I really like how it turned out. Hope you all aren't sick of the trees and green! And I got to break out my You're Dandy set to make rays out of VersaMark. I just love VersaMark on Kraft cardstock.

Just Because...

Did you see my subject? See... I can't name it anything outside my sentiment. I need a copywriter just for my blog posts.

Well I haven't been able to spend a lot of time crafting for the last few days, but tonight I was determined to make something. I have several new sets all calling my name. The one I decided to use is from my friend Dawn's new stamp line. I combined it with You're Dandy (currently out of stock, but I have more coming) and they really make a nice pair (don't you think Dawn?)

Originally I made the card without the little flowers, but I just wanted something on the grass. I just pulled out my o' Cropodile and started punching tiny little flowers. I think the way the dot curls up looks really cute in person.

I distressed the edges of my tree. I thought they gave a nice fluffed look. Below they kind of just look like I didn't cut very well. Please excuse that.

You're Dandy + Buttons

When I originally started this card, I was planning for it to be my card for our current EBTKS challenge card. However, it turned into something completely different! Do you ever do that? I have to say I'm loving the way it turned out.

To make this card I started with a 5x5 card base. Then I stamped the large and small rays from You're Dandy. I matched up my colors with the massive amounts of buttons I own and now I have button rays. I topped it all off with my labels 1 nestability.

You're Dandy Day Five!

I'm glad you're here! You certainly don't want to miss all these cards. These ladies have really outdone themselves.

But before we get to the main event I want to main event I want to show you another card I made. And can you believe it, it doesn't have rays on it. I'm a little obsessed with them to be honest.

The first thing I did was stamp my background. The set includes two clouds, one outline (great for paper piecing) and one filled one (great for stamping and doing the infamous kiss effect). To make the card above I simply followed the outline cloud and sewed them into the paper. I think it's really fun, but can't you image a sweet baby card done like this?

You're Dandy Day Four!

Today is all about those rays! Can you tell I love them? Here's a couple of cards I've made where they are on solid cardstock rather than just pattered paper. This is basically the same card with just a couple of changes.

 

Can't you imagine a set of these with different colors? And here it is with the colors swapped. 

Wouldn't it also be cool to ink the edges of the stamp in a different color? Or what about rays in all different colors? So many cool ideas.

You're Dandy Day Three!

Thank you all for your sweet comments. I'm so glad you like what you've seen so far! I've got two more cards for you today! So let's get started...

When I use this set I just can't help but to think fun, bright and SPRING. I'm so ready for it!

Now my grass is black, but it would certainly look great green, and if you click on the image above, you'll see some sweet little white clouds floating up there! And of course there are those rays again.

I did want to show you that you can use this set for other things than bright cards, so I went the total opposite direction.

This time I used this little star as an accent, well actually that's a little tool I created to help you line up the rays! More on that tomorrow. And notice how the rays are embossed. I just love that look.

You're Dandy Release

I think my new favorite thing about blogging is hearing all these great ideas for what the stamp set could possibly be! Seriously I got some good laughs yesterday, so thank you. Are you ready for the real deal?

Let me introduce You're Dandy. Many of you were right in guessing about a dandelion (two to be exact), but what I really loved where the guesses on those big black masses! Those black things are actually this really cool background builder. I think you'll really like it, but here's just a little peek at both of those:

Do you see how I added rays onto the American Crafts paper (so in love with this paper)? Pretty cool right. Here's a closer look.

On Thursday I've got a video that I'm planning to show you on exactly how to use these! Hopefully you aren't tired of my southern accent yet!
