Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge

Hey friends! I wanted to announce the winner of the sketch challenge we had earlier this month. As always so hard to choose. At the end I went with a card I just thought used the sketch in a really creative way. And the winner... Retro Girly Creative (Kerrianne).

Kerrianne, email me at courtney@practicingcreativitydesigns.com! Congratulations.

EBTKS - Challenge #25

Hey there it's time for another Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge. This time it was my turn to host. My inspiration for this sketch was this frame that I just love.
And here's the sketch:
I decided that using my fabric tape would be a cool way to create this striped look.
Stamps: Fall Fest (Practicing Creativity)
Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah)
Fabric Tape: Lemon Tart, Chocolate Stripe, Tan Stripe
Ribbon: Satin Dot (Papertrey Ink)

This week's sponsor is Paper Maniac and they are giving away a $20 gift card away to the winner. Check out their store and come play along with us!

Practicing Creativity Release

I've been working away packing orders today, but I did want to drop in to show you some other cards the design team and I made this week. The one above is probably my favorite card that I made using Fall Fest, but I wanted to save it until I had a video tutorial to go along with it!

You can also view it on YouTube.

Here's a few other cards the Design Team made as well.

The Bald Dragonfly

I'm so excited for Karen and her first release with us! I just loved both of these card!

Kismet, Art & Life
Aren't these two cards so gorgeous! Dana's so super talented!
Pretty Pink Posh
Paulina made this super pretty Christmas card using her sketch from earlier this week (which you can still play along with)!

Thanks again for your support during this release! You can find Fall Fest and Christmas Wonder on our site.

Fall Fest Day 3

The design team and I have been having some fun. We decided that our last little sketch challenge was too fun to only do once, so we've created another one! We hope you'll join us!

Ah... but are you ready for some more Fall Fest too? I know I'm biased but I really love this set!

For my card I wanted to stamp my favorite leaf in white on kraft. It's really right up my alley style wise.

And don't you love that ribbon? That will be some of our new ribbon in the store with this release. I love the chevron pattern, so cute.

The sentiments with this sets contains a "Thankful for ..." and then several endings you can either stamp with the "Thankful for..." or stamp inside.
Here's my sketch.
And now for the super talented design team.
Kismet, Art, and Life
Isn't that pattern so fun? I love the way Dana filled in her leaves with a white gel pen. It really sets the whole thing off. And here's Dana's sketch:

Pretty Pink Posh

As always I just love how Paulina uses stamps to create backgound. She used the large vine stamp, and then one of the graphic leaves. So cute.

The Bald Dragonfly
It seems like Karen, Dana and I all had kraft on the brain when we made today's cards. There's just something about kraft that screams fall to me. Check out how Karen used the large vine in the middle. She stamped the vine, then used another stamp to fill in the colors she wanted. Such a fun card.

So what do you think about Fall Fest? Doesn't it just get you in the mood for those cooler days. It does for me.

We'd love for you to come try out a sketch. Fell free to stave the sketches and post them on your blog with the card you make. Of course we'd love for you to let your blog readers know about our current release. Once you're done with your card come link it up below. Oh are you wondering about a prize? Well, the prize is a guest designer spot on next month's release!

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you'll come try a sketch out yourself, but I'd also love to hear what you are thankful for.

Fall Fest Day 2

This set is a really special one. My friend Lindsay and I use to throw a huge "fall fest" at my parent's farm every year. We would work all day getting things ready for a bonfire, smores, fall games, and music. Here's one picture we took a few years ago (notice my hair is very blond and I'm holding the camera out to take the picture).
When I started to illustrate this set it really made me think of those fall fests and how thankful I was for such great friends. So do you want to see some sneak peeks?

For my card I just had to use some fabric! There is a larger background building stamp, that I thought would look great on some fall textured fabric.

The leaves in this set are graphic in nature, making them perfect for creating your own backgrounds. Tomorrow I'll be showing you my favorite leaf out of the bunch and the background I made with it!

Do you want to check out what the Design Team made? These girls totally rock.

Well hello gorgeous! Don't you just love the colors, the leaves, the ribbon? And did you catch the cool border bunch at the bottom? Dana's details on this card are just flawless!
Karen's cards never cease to amaze me. I am constantly thinking "Why didn't I think of that?" and this card is certainly no exception. She has taken one of the leaves, stamped if four times to create a medallion effect, and accented it with one of the other leaf pieces. And don't you love her use of the Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist? So cool.
Paulina sure knows how to rock the light pink (I'm so jealous). These soft colors and her super cool background vines are just so pretty. And did you notice the other Practicing Creativity stamps she used? There are two... can you find them?

Go check out these girl's blogs for more details!

We'll be back tomorrow to show you more with this set, and we've even created some sketches for you play with!

But before you leave let us know what your favorite thing about fall!
