EBTKS Challenge - Buttons

Time flies. I can't believe this is our 20th challenge! It's my turn to host, and I had found this really cool button my mom had saved off some old shirt. I thought it was the perfect challenge. Now, can you use your store bought buttons? Absolutely. Would we love for you to use buttons you found around the house ... oh yea. After all, this is a challenge! But either way just come play along with us and break out those buttons!

The above graphic is actually my jar of "found" buttons. I try to keep buttons from clothes or those extra buttons you get with clothes in this little jar. And here's my card.
Don't you love that button? It works so well with My Beach House! I also used a row of store bought buttons to really finish it off.

Supplies
Stamps: My Beach House (Practicing Creativity)
Ink: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Kraft (Stampin' Up), Ivory (Gina K)
Ribbon: Netting, Ivory Twill (May Arts), Brown Twine (Shabby Green Door)
Buttons: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)

This challenge is sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamps! Simon Says Stamp also carries Practicing Creativity Stamps! The winner of this challenge will win a $15 credit to their store! Plus this winner has the opportunity to be our next guest designer!

My Beach House

It's been a really fun 4th of July here (well as fun as it could be while Chase is traveling). My Beach House is now available along with some fun new ribbon! We had a few more cards to show you with this release.

This card really just features that fun coral pattern I'm so obsessed with. It's simple and clean, but really elegant in a way with the brown.

Isn't this card so fun, graphic and girlie! I just love the combination Paulina used!

Check that out! Now if that's not creative I don't know what is! Dana sure knows how to get the most out of a stamp set!

Please scroll down for my Glitz Design Team post! I finally scrapped some photos of Maddie! It was so fun.

I'm loving seeing some of your sketch cards coming in! You have until the 15th to play along. You can find that post here.

This is another ribbon that is super easy to use when bow tying! It's so easy to get a great bow!

My Beach House - Day 4

Happy 4th of July everyone! What a great day to remember how fortunate I am to live in a free country. I know that is not something to take for granted.

Tonight's the night for My Beach House release! I just can't wait to get this set to everyone to see what you make! First up today, I have a video showing you all the little tricks about this set! If you have any questions after you watch it, just ask!

You can also watch it over at YouTube here.

I also have another card to show you using the coral stamps I love so much.
I originally designed the little sentiments to go inside the flag, but once I got them I realized how I didn't have anything like that. I just love how they can be used to make a quite little tag! I also used some Seafoam Linen ribbon! I'm not sure what it is about the linen ribbon, but I keep turn to it with this stamp set!

Check out the design team's fabulous cards!
Dana made this seriously realistic card! Isn't it just so fun. And isn't it great that you can really use this set for anyone (male or female).
Alice show off this beautiful card with clean lines. I just love that half circle, and the hanging anchor! So cute.

Isn't Paulina's card so cute? I just love the rope background. Again I love how this set can easily be used for men!

We will have some new ribbon for this release! This has been a highly request ribbon, and it is just so fun. It's super cute Yellow Plain Ruffle Ribbon!

You can see an example here on Michelle Philippi's blog.

So tonight's the night! I'll draw a winner for a set of My Beach House tonight at 11 eastern, and the set will be available at midnight eastern! You have just a few more hours to comment for a chance to win!

My Beach House - Day 3

I loved reading all of your decorating favorites yesterday! I honestly got several great ideas to use in my home!

Today I wanted so show you some of the real inspiration for this set...

This is a knot thing I got at Home Goods, and it really inspired the different ropes you see in the set. You'll also notice a nautical feel to the lamp behind it.
I love starfish. Seriously we have them everywhere. Here are just a couple that reside on my fireplace.
I'm so serious when I say this set is so me! I wanted to share with you a set of cards I made using the set. They are simple and fast, and really a perfect gift. I know my mom would love these.
I used the large rope to stamp the background and one of the main images to create a focal point. I do want to point out the flag, has a separate stamp that can be used to fill in the flag, and several small sentiments that fit into it as well.
Now let's check out the fabulous design team!
Alice has shown just how flexible this set is! Don't you just love that banner. She has stamped the "fill" for the flag and created a banner. And I just love it.
Paulina has done her magic again and used You're Dandy along with My Beach House! Doesn't those rays look fantastic?
This card by Dana is just so fun. It's classic nautical, and that rope is just the perfect touch and so beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by today! We've got a ton going! Leave a comment on any of this week's release post to win this set. I'll draw a winner July 4 at 11 PM est.

And don't forget about our big sketch challenge! There is a $50 credit to the Practicing Creativity store up for grabs! Enter on this blog post!

Just two more days before the big day!

My Beach House - Day 2

Okay, I was totally wrong! It was not easy. I'm serious when I say it seems so obvious to me. Obviously I'm going to need to get another set of eyes on this next time. If you've been a reader for awhile you'll know of my obsession with decorating and my love of sea inspired decor. Granted, I don't live anywhere close to the sea, but I love to use elements and textures you would find in a beach home in our home. All of the stamps in this set are really inspired by my own home! So you want to see some cards?

For my first card, I wanted to use stripes of paper to create a kind of frame. I've stamped the anchor, the little sentiment, the coral, and the ropes on scratch paper. I've cut them all into stripes and arranged to go around the outside of my focal point. And then I topped it off with some of my favorite sunny yellow linen ribbon.

The design team and I have a special challenge for you too! We've created sketches from all the cards shown today, and we'd love for you to try your hand at them! I'll give you more details at the bottom of the post, but here's my sketch:

And let me show you what Alice, Dana and Paulina have come up with!

Dana has totally embraced this set. I just love her little collage of coral and shells! And how about that rope she's tied around her card? Just the perfect touch! Here's Dana's sketch:

Paulina shows her classic style with this fabulous card! The tone on tone coral is just so beautiful! And those flags, just wait until we get into the release to see the possibilities those hold! Here's Paulina's sketch:

Don't you just love the variety of colors this set can be used with? When I started to look at all of our sketch cards, I was really shocked at the array of colors used! Alice's card uses the large rope background stamp in such a gorgeous way. And don't you love how the coral almost looks like seaweed?
And here is Alice's sketch:

So do you want to try your hand at one of these three sketches (or all three)? We sure hope so. So here's the deal. You have until midnight on July 15 to make a card, scrapbook page, really whatever your heart desires based of one of the sketches. Post your card on your blog or gallery, let people know you are playing the Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge and come back here to link your card up! You don't have to use Practicing Creativity stamps, but we would love for you to if you have some!

But the prize ... we will be giving away a $50 credit to Practicing Creativity to the big winner.

And you can always comment on this post to be eligible to win the My Beach House! Just let me know something you like to decorate with!
