It's 2 Sketches time! Kazan has whipped up an awesome little sketch for us this week.
This week's sponsor is AI Factory. I got to use this image of a caterpillar from Hang in There. One thing I'm already loving about being on the 2 Sketches team, is practicing my coloring skills (or lack there of). It really is so relaxing.
One tip on printing digital stamps. I have a stack of 4x6 cardstock cut and ready to put in my photo printer slot. I like the fact that I don't have to waist a whole sheet of paper when I just need a quarter (or smaller) section of it.
Here's what I came up with!
I used my white chalk ink to stamp my large dots from For the Love of Dots. Unfortunately it did not cover as well as I would have like. It seems that craft ink works a lot better on cork.

Who knew you could get inspiration while washing your clothes! EBTKS is all about find inspiration in our everyday lives. Here's this challenge's sketch:
I wasn't exactly sure where this sketch was going to take me, but I'm very satisfied with the result. However, it was certainly a journey and if you watch the video below you'll kind of see that what I think I'm going to end up with isn't always what happens.
At some point during the creative process I realized this card might make an interesting video (or maybe not, but I made one).

I stayed up late last night working on my card for the latest Embellish challenge. And granted Practicing Creativity is sponsoring, but I LOVE this:
I think those images are gorgeous. Now... that isn't to say I had an easy time with this card! Don't you think it's funny how colors look so gorgeous together, but then give you fits when you actually try to work them together on a card? I decided to break out Look Up! and For the Love of Dots for this card.
I had to adjust my colors just a tad, and I'm in love with that pink twill which is a little lighter. I seriously do not have any true blue paper or ink! You can come play along with this challenge here! I hope you all have a great weekend!
I adore Heidi Van Laar's work, and when I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger I knew I wanted to play along. Here's Heidi's card:
So gorgeous. I used her color scheme, her ribbon tretment and stitching and made my own card:
I used the Poppy Chalk Ink by Hero Arts on the large dots from For the Love of Dots, and I love the color and coverage.
I've making tons of stuff lately, so much so that I think I'm losing my mojo a bit. Usually the more I make the more creative I am, but apparently there is a limit to that!

Well I have one more card to show you with this set. It honestly isn't my favorite, but my buddy Amy is going to redeem this post with a card of her own.
Now do you see the shinny dots? Well I think that's where this card went wrong. That's crystal effects, and I've been using it like crazy. However I forgot how on large areas it doesn't really look the best. It also warps your paper. Those are two bad combinations.
So not my favorite by any means, but that's to Amy, you've still got a pretty card to look at:

For this card I stamped the large dots on some patterned paper. I love adding that extra dimension to cards! I used the small dots and some crystal effects to make the dot swirls! And of course the sentiment. Now, do any of you remember those blurred t-shirts like that form the 90's? It was actually the idea for the focal image. Well I stamped the sentiment once in the middle of my Labels 4 die, and stamped a send and third time above it. I inked it up again, stamped off once and stamped two more times below it.

Heidi Van Laar's work is always top-notch, and I just adore this card she made using For the Love of Dots! She inked up the large dots to create this super fun pattern. You'll have to check out her blog for more details.
I actually remember the first time I saw one of Laura O'Donnel's cards! She is so creative! She also used the large dots, but with a totally different look. Notice Heidi set the dots stacked on top of one another, while Laura off set hers! This is one thing I love about this set - FLEXIBILITY!
Amy Heller has great style. I just love her eye for design. For this card she's used the lace circles as a border, and it's just gorgeous.

Can you believe it's April? I still feel like Christmas was just last month. But let's get back to For the Love of Dots! Today I want to show you a card and a video that I hope will help you see how to use this set and how truly versatile it is!
I always use sentiments on my cards, but here recently I realized that it would be a good idea to have a stock pile of cards without sentiments. And then when I need a birthday card or a thank you card or a get well card, I can just stamp the appropriate sentiment and go. That's where this card started, and I just love the way it turned out.
Isn't that aqua dot background fun? When I designed that stamp I was so excited about the possibilities. I think it could be great to use for some super cute kids cards as well, and as many of you know I don't have ANY kid stamps so I have to work with what I have. And I think this would be a great stamp to use. Or what about the above as a fun graphic Christmas card?
The dots on the yellow background are also from the set, but you'll want to check out the video to see another cool trick with that stamp.

Thanks for checking in today! I'll be showing you one of my favorite stamps from the set. It all started with those BIG dots, but this is the stamp that I've had the most fun working with. It honestly ended up being more fun than I ever anticipated when designing it. This background is made from a bunch of interlocking circles. The coolest part is once you've built the background you can select different patterns to highlight. Here's how you build the background (and you can make it as wide as you want as well):
Remember my card from yesterday? See it here. I had just stamp the image without any coloring and it is just as beautiful, but I wanted to show you what great potential this stamp has. Here are three cards with the same design, but I've used my markers to highlight different patterns within!
And honestly that's just the beginning of the options!
On this first one I colored in the flower/circle diamond image:
For this one I colored in the different circles to highlight them, and at the bottom I broke out my black marker and colored in another pattern at the bottom:
For this last one, I went all out coloring in the diamonds with black and using two different shades of pink to color in the pieces around them.
Isn't that fun? And I wish I had more Copic markers, but for those of you that do this is a great way to use them! Tomorrow I'll have a video for you showing you even more details about this set. You don't want to miss it.

Okay, so the image yesterday was seriously hard, but some of you STILL got it right! This set is all about background, specifically dots! Basically it all start with something I wanted... some BIG dots, and since I couldn't find what I was looking for I designed it. But that's just the beginning.
However, I'm so in love with these dots and I have to go ahead and show you a card with them! And, don't miss that stamp behind the ribbon, and the sentiment.
I'm loving how these dots can be stamped staggered like this or in straight alignment. I love having that option! And just wait until you see some of the cards my friends have made using the set! So cute!
This set has three sentiments all made from dots! They are super fun! And that "lace" behind the ribbon, just wait until you see how that background stamp looks once it is built. I love it!
We have some more ribbon back in stock! Both the Teal Twill and the Pink and White Stripe ribbons are back. I've also got a few new ribbons to show you!
