Happy Birthday Friend

Chase went out golfing last night so I had a few minutes to make a card. I needed a birthday card, so I thought I'd play along with Caardvark's latest challenge. Here's what I came up with!
I still really love this plaid from Jenni Bowlin. It's just so fun. I love the green in it as well. And I also used the Happy Birthday Friend stamp from You're Dandy (which is now back in-stock along with You're the Man).

Speaking of birthdays, for the last couple of years I've had a time remember how old I am. What happens is, about half way through the year I'll start rounding my age up. Then when I get to my birthday, since I've been saying my new age for 6 months I unintentionally add ANOTHER year. It's so sad when your husband has to remind you how old you are.

Ha! Courtney, I do the same thing! Once you hit thirty it all starts to blur! :) Not sure if you're there yet or not, but I am.
The card is great. Love the cupcake.

Intentional of course, but I really like how the cupcake liner has plaid too, and that you pulled out the green. Great ideas! Is your birthday coming up?

What a great card! Love the colors. I can't remember my age either, I literally have to do "the math" in my head. No joke, I have to take the year I was born and subtract what year it is to figure it out. I have told people one age just blurting it out and then after doing the math have to say "wait no I'm *whatever age I am when they ask* LOL! Man what's going to happen when I am 60 or 70 I am certainly not going to know because I will be too old to do some basic math problems. HAHA

I always have to count back to my year of birth. But I also have a 15 year old teenage daughter who loves to remind me I'm old!
Lovely card. The colors are great.

For a non-pink gal, you sure know how to sport it! :> Looks like a fun birthday card, for sure!

LOL on the age thing. My brother did that last year. He had it in his head that he turned a certain age on his birthday and then realized a month later that he was actually a year younger! So, this year, on his birthday, he said he felt like he had a free year and that it didn't feel like he was any older (since he'd thought he had already turned this year's age)! Now, I'm sure there will come a time that you won't round up anymore and my brother won't skip ahead a year. My Dad has been twenty-nine for many decades now! lol :>

LOL! My hubster LOVES to remind me of how old I am, because he's almost 3 years younger than me! When is your BD girl?
Love the plaids here, and the tiny hearts on top of the cupcake that match the offset twill bow. Nice touch.

This is fabulous! Love that great DP and that sweet cuppie! And the stamps, of course, I'm dyin' to get the 'You're Dandy' set!

And I do the exact same thing with my age/birthday. Yes, it's kinda lame when other people have to correct me but it's so cool to actually LOSE a year at every birthday! Who says you can't get younger?!?!

Have a wonderful weekend ... stay cool!

Super fun card. When you get to be my age, you'll reconsider rounding up... I stay my age until THE day. I really don't mind my age, but I don't advance it until I have to :)

Sweet card - I agree the plaid is yummy. I am right there with you on the age thing - I always forgot how old I am...perhaps that is just a side affect of getting old :>)
