Retro Christmas, Day Three!

So glad you all are having fun with our Retro Christmas cards! Today we have some more cards for you! The design team and I decided to focus on a technique, and since spray inks are so hot right now, we went for that!

For my card I decided to do the resist technique and a little masking. I first I masked off the circle in the middle of my card, stamped and embossed my image, (this stamp also has several little Christmas lights that you can stamp with it or without), and sprayed my ink. After letting it dry, I rubbed the ink of the embossed portion and took off my masking.
I just love how that technique looks! You'll also notice that on my ornaments, rather than stamping some of the cute little stamps that fit inside, I used a button. I think it's a fun alternative!

Stamps: Retro Christmas, Retro Christmas Backgrounds (Practicing Creativity)
Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah), Kraft (Stampin' Up)
Spray Ink: Turquoise Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)
Ink: Craft White (Stampin' Up)
Fibers: Red Twine (Divine Twine)
Buttons: Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)

Check out what the design team created! I'm so lucky to have these girls!

Karen show us just how flexible this set can be! She used several different spray inks to create that really cool background. And don't you just love how the deer can be used with or with out antlers! Just a really fun card.
Dana used the same swirl stamp that I used from Retro Christmas, however she used glimmer mist to highlight the different lights! Aren't those so cute? Again you can use the swirl with or without the lights! Don't you love flexible sets?

Isn't Paulina's card just too cute? She used glimmer mist on her light bulbs too, and on her rose flower! My opinion is that those small details really make a card, and this is certainly no exception.

And our guest designers this month, really rocked this set:
Jackie Solomon use of color is just so fun! Jackie joined us in using spray ink, and I just love the way she utilized the technique. I just love the great texture it brings to an already amazing card.
Heather Pulvirenti does it again with one beautiful color combo! She has used one of the background building stamps from Retro Christmas and one of the sentiments to create a really cute card! This would be a really cute one to mass produce this year!
Christina MacLaren rocked this card. I really love the colors, and how cute is that tree with the bling!

Check out the design team and the guest design team's blogs for more details!

If you haven't played a long with our little Practicing Creativity contest, you can find more details here.

Tomorrow it's all about Christmas projects, so that will be one you don't want to miss. I'll also have some videos on how both sets work! Before you leave today, I'd love to know you thoughts on spray ink, love it hate it, we just want to know!

You photograhed your card so well that I could see all the shimmer. I have used my glimmer mists before but I do like the look they give!

I have yet to try the spray on ink :< Sometimes it looks so messy and sounds like something that you could easily wreck a project with! But seeing your creations make me rethink that! Love this set SO MUCH!
