For the Love of Grids

We're back today with some more cards using For the Love of Grids! Today, I gave each designer the challenge of using For the Love of Grids with one of Practicing Creativity's other stamp sets (not that hard since For the Love of Grids can truly go with anything).

I decided I would use Barefoot Summer along with For the Love of Grids. I also decided to make a scrapbook page rather than a card. It's really not hard at all to create your own 12x12 patterned paper with these stamps.

I used all three background sets. I also used our Turquoise Glimmer Mist to give it even more texture. It's hard to see in the pictures though.

Check out what the design team did:

Dana got the challenge of using Look Up! Additions with For the Love of Grids. Isn't the result just stunning? Dana used all three grids and the sentiment and large balloon from Look Up! Additions.

 Karen
Karen  used The Whole Cycle and Chatterbox along with For the Love of Grids. Notice how she accented the dots? So cute!

Valerie used a really creative use of the grid. Once she raised the flower out of the background, she colored in select squares to create a checkered effect. Valerie also used Nature's Wonder.

Tonight's the big night. For the Love of Grids will release at midnight eastern tonight!

But before that I'd like to give away another set! I'd love to hear which Practicing Creativity stamp set you'd most like to use with For the Love of Grids!

Farewell to 2 Sketches 4 You

Today is a sad day. We are wishing 2 Sketches 4 You goodbye. When I heard the news from Laura and Kazan I was sad, but I totally understood. These challenge sites really take a ton of work, and I know Laura and Kazan both have great things in store for us in the future.

All of the current design team and design team alumni are working with two fabulous sketches. I know you'll want to join us for these two final sketches!

And here's what I came up with (we are all focusing on miss you/good bye cards).

1. Make card from cardstock.
2. Cut stripe of cardstock and adhere to bottom of card base.
3. Cut a 2x3 piece of patterned paper. Stamp balloon and adhere.
4. Stamp balloon three more times, cut out balloon and accent piece adhere.
5. Stamp cloud, cut, and adhere with foam tape.
6. Stamp sentiment, adhere.
7. Tie bow and adhere ribbon.

Stamps: Look Up Additions, You're Dandy (Practicing Creativity)
Cardstock: New Leaf, Hawaiian Breeze, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), Solar White (Neenah)
Ink: Powder Blue (Jenni Bowlin), Black (VersaFine)
Ribbon: New Leaf (Papertrey Ink)

So go check out 2 Sketches 4 You and wish Kazan and Laura luck with their new adventures!

Happy New Year with Look Up! Additions

I'll admit it. I'm still in my PJs. Don't you just love the holidays? It's been a much needed break for me already. I've been working hard to finish my December Daily book, and I'll be posting more about that soon. This year rather than trying to get it done and blog about it, I let myself just try to get it done! This morning I decided to make a Happy New Year card with Everyday Prints, Retro Christmas Backgrounds and Look Up! Additions.

1. Make card from cardstock.
2. Stamp background stamp (Houndstooth from Retro Christmas Backgrounds) with VersaMark.
3. Using a pen and ruler, draw a rectangle 1/4 inch from the edge.
4. Stamp banner, three times on cardstock. Stamp inside patterns. Cut.
5. Adhere banners and punch hole where they meet. Tie bow.
6. Stamp sentiments.

Stamps: Everyday Prints, Retro Christmas Backgrounds and Look Up! Additions (Practicing Creativity)
Cardstock: Kraft, Golden Harvest (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: VersaMark, Craft White (Stampin' Up), Spice Tin (Jenni Bowlin for Ranger)
Thread: Divine Twine Yellow
Pen: Night of Navy Writer (Stampin' Up!)

I'm really excited about this New Years. Chase and I will be in North Carolina "practicing" our skiing with some friends in preparation for our trip in April! Hopefully I'll be okay at skiing and therefore not scared to death to ski in the Alps!

I'm off to work on some more projects for next week's release! I can't wait to show you!

Look Up! Additions and Nature's Wonder

Both Look Up! Additions and Nature's Wonder are available in the store! I do have a few more cards from the designs team and me.

This stamp set is a remake for me. It was inspired by one of my favorite Look Up! cards:

I really do love Look Up! Additions. I also paired it with the clouds from You're Dandy.

And check out some of the designs team cards:

And now check out the fab guest designers. I've loved having these girls!

Check out each blog for details on how they created the super fun cards! If you haven't checked out Look Up! Additions and Nature's Wonder you can find them at the store!
Thanks for making this release another special one!

Practicing Creativity Designs: Look Up! Additions

Doesn't the title just make you excited? I'm so excited to show you this set. I had a blast illustrating this set to add to Look Up!

Here's the card I made, and I have a video to show you exactly how I made it. Plus, in the video I share a few of the little interactive pieces. But first here's my card:
And here's the video:

Or you can watch the video over at YouTube here.

The design team has rocked this stamp set, and we have three amazing guest designers this month! You're going to love these creations! The design team has taken a card made with the original Look Up! and used it as inspiration to create a new card.

Aren't these so cute? I love how Karen created this stained glass look and you can check out her blog for how to achieve this look. Karen also used the new banner to create the scallops.

Are these not so cute? Dana made the first card with Look Up! and the second one with Look Up! Additions. And don't you just love that scallop on the banner?  That's an additional stamp that you can add to the scallop banner.
Aren't these so sweet. I just love the colors Paulina used. And that background from Retro Christmas Backgrounds, so sweet.

And check out what our fabulous guest designers created!

I'm thrilled to have Vanessa this month! Don't you love these sweet balloons! I just love this creative way to use the set!
Amy Kolling
Isn't the color combo Amy used fantastic? I just love it. Amy also used one of the patterns you can use on the banner to create her own scallop border. I'm so going to have to try that myself!

Go check out these girl's blogs for more details on all their fabulous cards!

Make sure you check back tomorrow where we'll show you sneak peeks from our other set that's releasing this month! It's also a sequel! :)

Before you leave, leave a comment and we'll be giving away Look Up! Additions. I'd love to hear what you think about Look Up! Additions!
