A Book Club Night

Last night was my turn to host the book club that I'm part of. We had a smaller group last night so it was the perfect time to use my crazy dishes. Back to that in a minute. When I got the table completely ready I realized that I wish it was set all the time. It just looks better.
Now back to my crazy dishes. Before Chase and I redid our dining room I had plates hanging all over the wall. So when we made the change I realized that my dream of having dinner with a bunch of random plates could become reality. However, honestly last night was the first time I've done it. Here's one of the place settings:
Isn't it quirky and fun (two words I don't normally use to describe my style)?

I did want to show you a card. This is a very tall card. It's all about that patterned paper.
What do you think about unusually shaped cards? Obviously an envelope will be hard with this card, but it's fun!

Stamps: On the Desk (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Onyx Black (Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Patterned Paper: Happy Homemaker (Graphic 45)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Misc: Cream Stick (Jenni Bowlin), Black Pearls (Hero Arts)

Thanks for stopping by! Can you believe it's almost the end of March!

Love mismatched plates:). I own fiestaware and have random colors so no matchy matchy for me! Love your g45 card!!

Fun little place setting for sure - your table all set and pretty looks great....and set all the time would be a nice decor addition.
Love the card - I love those papers...one of my favorite cards was made with that paper - wish I had that ribbon then!

Love the setup and I think the mis-matched plates are awesome. Something I would do too :)

I'm a big fan of shaped cards, they just look special to me because they can take a bit longer to create sometimes. I appreciate that. I love what you've done with yours. The patterns go together so well.

Sometimes a shaped card can be an unexpected surprise, so I'm all for them, but hardly ever make them (wonder why?)... Your card is fantastic, love the colors, the vintage and the patterns. Oh, of course, the ribbon too, can't wait to try something with mine.

This card is great! I love the vintage look too! You can really dress up a tall card well!

Your plate setting is great! I love that it's not all matchy! Sometimes I get on the matchy kick and wish I could mismatch it up!

Wish I could've joined the fellowship, even though I rarely read! :)

Love that card!! I also love unusual sized cards. But, I try to make those for people that they are being hand delivered to. Postage costs have encouraged me to stick to more traditional sizes for those that are being mailed. :>

Your table setting looks lovely. The runner definitely looks very much like you. But, with the neutral table runner & table, your eclectic table settings really get to pop and have fun! :>

You are my HERO! Your dining room, your hostessing, your SHOW! It's ALL good, darlin'! And then, *gasp!* that card... tall and lovely! I think it's FABULOUS! I like doing tall cards and aiming them to fit in a legal envelope! I think it surprises folks! All I know is I'd die to receive a gorgeous card like this one! Wahooo!

I love eclectic style in decorating. Too much matchy matchy isn't as interesting so I think your table settings look fabulous!

Stylish card, Courtney! Love the vintage look, too.

Super cute and I LOVE mismatch stuff too!

I'd like to join a book club if I can find one that suits my taste. I'm not much into fiction lately although a good one here and there is lovely :)

I love the vintage card, Courtney. I've been a frequent visitor of your blog, but my bad for not commenting regularly. I love your clean lines and bright colors. And congratulations on your new stamp business. Now, we can all copy your beautiful style :-). I also saw you're reading one of my favorite books, A Severe Mercy. Thanks for the reminder to pick it up again.
