I just wanted to jump over here and give you a little example of why I believe in practicing creativity. As it is the end of the year and I have some time off I, like many of you, start to reorganize my house. As I was looking through a random box I found a card I had made and written to my husband (at the time I believe he was still my fiance) years ago. It isn't a bad card, everyone has to start somewhere, but my ability to create has certainly grown with years of practice.
Now granted I could probably find some card even more basic somewhere. By this point I did know how to use an embossing gun, and check out those many embossing colors (PS. I still have those).
So if you are one of the 5 non-card makers that read this blog... you can do this, it just takes practice. Here's the proof circa 2005:
And later this month I'll see my first card in a magazine. Now, that's coming along way!

So sweet, Courtney. You're so right -- practice may not make perfect, but it certainly makes for improvement. And -- a good thing about embossing powders: they seem to last forever... :)
So sweet - I think I have a couple of those lying around too. I gave some to my Mom as a gift!! Now every so often I get one returned to me - too funny!! Congrats on the publish!! How fun!!
Congrats on being published! I think this is still a nice clean & graphic card! You should see some of my oldies!!! Ha!
I love the JOURNEY! You are so right, and yet, I'm thinkin'.... That's an awful nice card to begin with! Hee Hee...
{Can't wait to see your work on the magnificent pages of CARDS! I just got the Jan. issue and SO many of our faves are gettin' in! Wahoo!}
Congrats on being published! I recently got blasts from the past from a co-worker - she has saved every Christmas card and she put them all on display when I handed out cards this year. There were a couple I would rather forget :>)
That's awesome! It's so cool how we grow and change even in our hobbies!
How exciting seeing your card in print. Congratulations to you. It is fun looking at old cards that we have created and realising how much we have improved. Also how much the craft items have changed.
LOL! I KNOW what you're talking about! :) I just came across several of my 'firsts' & I remember being so proud of them. :) Practice does make a big difference! Congrats on your pub! Hope I get to see it!
When I saw the new name, I thought it was perfect. I also liked your old one too. In fact, when I click on your blog, I often hear myself say, "Courtney's blog...Practicing Creativity One Day at a Time"! It all just flows and one of the many reasons I just love to come here!
Oh yea...colored embossing powders....I think I have flourescent yellow from the mid
1990's!! lol :>
Isn't it amazing to see how we grow over the years? I think that's what is so fun to keep a blog...it's a diary of the journey...
Hey, that's me! I am one of the 5 non-card makers that read :O). You never know though, I might just one day bust out with a EBTKS card or something. Ha! ;O)
Manchester Utd, almost certainly the biggest soccer club on earth. The selection of players on offer to a football team of this stature is fairly big. Over time Man utd have therefore had some top rated footballers out on the pitch for them. Whether you like it or not, the role in any soccer team that will get the maximum amount of interest is centre forward. manchester united manchester united In anticipation of the 2002 Commonwealth Games, which Manchester hosted, several first class sporting facilities were constructed and this further boosted sports development in the city. These venues include the Manchester Velodrome, the City of Manchester Stadium, the National Squash Centre and the Manchester Aquatics Centre. michael carrick Back in the Newton Heath era, the kits were made up of yellow and green stitched sections (1878 - 1892), and looked a bit like a jockey's silks. Some additional colour schemes were also employed such as a red and white shirt (1892-1894) paired with blue shorts. This all changed in 1902 when the club changed its name to Manchester United, the club radically altered the kit colours to red shirts, white shorts and black socks. This colour palette has been the foundation of the home strip ever since. The away strip is white jerseys, black shorts and white socks however different looks to this strip have existed. The most notorious of these was the all-grey strip employed in the 1995-1996 campaign. The club did not win a single game when sporting the grey shirts. The team were vociferous in their claims that the drab colour meant they had difficulty seeing their team-mates, hence passes were being sprayed all over the pitch! Another variation was the all-black kit used in 1994 and 2003. There is also a "Third Strip". This shirt which is not often used, is an homage to the kit worn when the club won the 1968 European Cup. The team has occasionally used the strips employed for training sessions in actual matches although this has been a rare occurence.
