The Sky's the Limit

Today is a very special day for my family. My dad decided 8 years ago to go back to school to get his engineering degree. While working his full-time career he managed to not only graduate but to graduate with a 3.8 (he beat all three of his kids in that area). We are very proud of him and this goal he achieved. It's going to be weird not to hear about thermodynamics and capstone projects anymore when I talk to my dad.

So I needed to make ANOTHER masculine card. And I wanted it to be graduation card, but I didn't want black and gray. Here's what I came up with.

I broke out Look Up! and got to work. I actually stamped the balloon on Not So Navy cardstock and used my copics to give it a nice monochromatic depth. And how about that plaid sky? I think it's fun!

Hopefully he'll like it. Tonight we are having a massive graduation party! It should be fun.

  27. You're dad is amazing!!! That took a lot of dedication and courage and very supportive family! And what an inspiration to his kids. I hope that one day my dh will decide to go on and get that civil Engineering degree that he's always wanted. Right now he's busy enough with 3 kids and a technicians job with the city.

You're card is fantastic and says exactly what your dad has proven.

  28. Yeah! Congrats to your dad. People like him inspire me so much, that no matter your age, one can still find time and energy to do new things!

Your card gives me new ideas! I need them, as I am in a little bit of a "uninspired time", but I'll get back on track! :-)

You know what's funny? You came up with a stamp set that had argyle pattern, then PTI came out with argyle pattern, too! You designed the hot-air balloons, not they are coming out with hot-air balloons, too! You're a trend setter, girl, keep at it!!
