Embellish with Stripes

Another busy day here! Chase is back at home! He's only been gone two days, but I've really missed him. While Chase has been napping and recovering from spending all weekend with a bunch of teenagers at a retreat, I made a card for the Embellish challenge.

Here's the awesome image Ashley posted for this challenge:


And here's what I came up with:

 
Stamps: Cuckoo (Hero Arts)
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Kraft, Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up); Plum Pudding, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Elegant Eggplant (Stampin' Up)
Ribbon: Double Faced Satin Cream (May Arts)
Punch: Apron Lace (Fiskars)
Rhinestones: Purple (Kaiser)

I did want to share with you one little discovery I had tonight. The satin ribbon I used is beautiful, but it was a little wide for what I wanted. I just folded the edges back, and created this great dimension with it. Now if I can just remember that the next time in that same bind.

    Wow that is fantastic! Love what you did with the ribbon and bling. The great thing about blogs is that you always have a reference when you give your cards away so it's easier to remember your little tricks of the trade :-)
