a wish list.

Chase and I will hopefully be moving into our house pretty soon (don't get me started on that subject). Actually, let me give you the quick 101. Yesterday our garage door was put in and our yard was strawed. Great right? WRONG! Guess what they did. They put locks on the doors. Now I realize the house isn't mine yet, but how am I suppose to know what's happened each day? Also, even though our house looks like it is almost done and according to our 'road map' it is almost done, the builder claims it isn't going to be done until October 20th. Mini-rant over.

I've been trying to get my head around things I want to decorate, where things will go, things we still need to buy, etc.

So far we've taken care of:
  • Garage Door Opener, the super quiet version. This surprisingly does not come with the house.

  • Headboard for the guest bedroom (I'll post about this project once we get into the house)

  • Picking out 80% of the colors

  • Picking out crown molding to be installed after closing (thankfully my handy husband and father are great at these things)
Things we still need to buy or decide on:
  • Blinds (who knew these things were so expensive). I know we don't have to have blinds on every window the day we move in, but it's still on my list of needs.

  • Actual bed frame for guest bedroom

  • Chalkboard for our door or garage entry way. I love to leave notes, and I love chalkboards.

  • Night stand for the guest bedroom

  • Mattress for the guest bedroom

  • Paint in the hallways and guest bath.

So besides those things, that I feel like are pretty essential here is my list of wants... or I'll call them wishes, it sounds better.

Towels. I guess it's sad that towels are on my list, but these aren't any towels. Since I've gotten married and received all of those great wedding gifts, I've realized that white is the way to go. White sheets, white towels, white and bleach, two of my friends. Unfortunately I didn't register for white stuff. Have you seen these towels? So soft.

Bookcase. I have this plan of using this bookshelf in our office with those canvas boxed and baskets. I think it could look great. Plus it will have great places to hide my craft stuff!

Built in bookcases. Okay, I'm not a crazy bookcase lover, but my husband and I have a ton of books. With Chase getting his master and my reading habit, we need bookcases. I would love some in our bonus room!

Sheet. White sheets. Some really soft ones.

I will need some artwork and decorative pillows etc. but I haven't put my finger exactly which ones I want.

another layout.

I finally got another layout done from my house pictures. I will admit that each of these layouts are getting harder as I try to continue on with the theme. I'm enjoying the challenge, but I'm not sure I like the pages individually. However, I do think I will like them once I get them printed and into a mini-book.

foundation.

I finally got another layout done for my house album. I honestly think I'm about to run out of ideas on how to make these pages visually interesting, but I guess I cross that bridge when I get there. However, I'm set on having this documentary style book.

Thankfully Ray taught me how to use some textures/blending modes to create some interest in my construction photos. I mean let's be honest, pictures of block, not too pretty.

a different project.

Several months ago Chase and I found out our friends Sean and Christie were going to have a baby. I wanted to make them something special for the baby (I wish I could do this for everyone, but I honestly don't think I'll ever attempt it again! I'll have to think of something other than knitting to make for everyone else). I knitted a baby blanket.

I actually started knitting one day at the pool with my friend Ashley. I'm pretty sure the other people at the pool thought we were crazy, but it honestly didn't bother me at all. And I do enjoy knitting, it's actually pretty relaxing, well until my fingers start to hurt.

So here's the blanket. I didn't want to do baby blue, and Colin's room is sports themed so I thought this fit. Plus, I feel like this blanket will last longer since it's not too baby-ish.

Just a day after I was able to give this blanket to Sean and Christie, baby Colin came into the world! We are so excited about him!
